Abstract:  Anti-Oppression in a Canadian Context: This interactive virtual workshop will explore the complexity of human identities that intersect and potentially create privileged and/or marginalized realities. As Canadians, we must understand anti-oppression theory and the mechanisms that impact people's daily lives. The programme will focus on strategies that participants can engage in to analyze their own personal biases as well to ensure that they do not exacerbate marginalizing conditions for the community members that they serve. Tools will be provided that can be used to increase interpersonal relationships in the workplace . The workshop will use original children's stories and even a song about body image entitled, "Shout Proud".
