Defensive Carbine Skills

Cost: $150.00. A $30.00 deposit reserves your spot in the class. Remaining balance of $120.00 is due the day of the class by cash only. The class is limited to 10 students.

Defensive Carbine Skills is intended for anyone who is interested in learning to use the carbine in a defensive or tactical situation, or improve their existing skills. Private citizens, military, and law enforcement will all benefit from the skills acquired in this class.

Defensive Carbine Skills is not an introductory carbine class. Students should already have basic familiarity with their carbines, and have a zero set (we recommend 50 yards). Time will be allotted to confirm zeros.

Malfunction Clearance

Grip Techniques

Ready Positions

Shooting Positions

Turning and Shooting

Shooting on the Move

Multiple Threat Engagement

Moving to Cover

Shooting from Cover

Carbine to Pistol Transitions

Stress Course

Decision Making (Shoot/No Shoot Scenarios)

 

Ammo Required:

Rifle: 550 minimum

Pistol: 150 minimum

 

Equipment Required:

Quality carbine equipped with a sling (slings are mandatory for this class).

Quality semi-auto pistol, and a quality holster that is designed for the firearm being carried. Holsters requiring use of the trigger-finger to deactivate retention (Serpa, etc) are not allowed.

At least 4 operable magazines for the carbine, and the ability to retain at least 2 spares on your body.

At least 3 pistol magazines, and a magazine pouch.

Eye and ear protection (Electronic ear protection is strongly recommended).

Seasonal/Weather appropriate clothing and footwear (We shoot rain or shine).

 

Optional Equipment:

Brimmed hat, knee and elbow pads, gloves, drop pouch, sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks, water.
