Our highly popular maths deep dive course has now been consolidated into half a day focusing on the key messages. As such it is ideal for newly appointed subject leaders or as a refresher for schools likely to be inspected soon.

Ofsted’s inspection framework clearly focuses on the core subjects as well as the breadth of the foundation curriculum, and maths is likely to be a ‘deep dive’ on primary inspections. This course will provide primary maths subject leaders and senior leaders with background information on the deep dive process as well as ideas and tools to use in school to audit and evaluate maths against the three I’s – intent, implementation and impact.

Now is the right time to audit and evaluate the teaching of maths and ensure your school is well-prepared for the inspection process.

The half-day training will:

  • Look at the priorities and processes of a deep dive into maths;

  • Consider carefully the quality of the intent, implementation and impact of a school's maths curriculum;

  • Ensure delegates are clear about the process of inspection and the questions inspectors are likely to ask about maths;

  • Enable subject leaders to audit the quality of the provision for of maths using deep dive questions and methodology.

This training aims to support maths subject leaders through the inspection process and enable maths subject leaders to effectively evaluate provision in their own setting.
