"Recruitment and Team Building"
Session description and presenter info are below.
Session Description:
Recruiting and retaining a motivated, qualified staff that collaborates effectively is integral to the mission of any youth-serving agency. Unfortunately, this seems like a daunting task when you factor in the particular challenges of the Out-of-School Time landscape. In this session we will explore best practices in staffing from the private and nonprofit sectors, and look at real ways you can integrate these into your agency's strategy. We'll also dive into the strengths of our field and look at ways you can bring community building, growth mindset, hands-on engagement, and voice and choice into your workplace. Leave with tools you can use today to grow your dream team.
Presenter Info:
Desiree Morales has 13 years of experience managing educational programs, 11 of which she spent focused on Out-of-School Time. She joined ACE Austin in 2010 as a Site Coordinator, and went on to oversee multiple grants, pilot program implementation, and professional development before becoming a Project Director for the Cycle 7 21st CCLC grant. She currently runs a pilot pathway in the Crockett vertical team that integrates entrepreneurial learning into the school day and developed the Student INC Road Map: A Guide to Implementing Entrepreneurial Learning in Public Schools, which offers comprehensive guidance for agencies seeking to create youth entrepreneurship programs.
