Hello interested Debs to be!
This is the RSVP page for our info session on Sunday, December 18 at 4pm at Exhibit Hall B at the River Centre. See here for the map http://www.rivercentre.org/plan/floor-plans
Our goal with this info session is to go over expectations for Debs and do some dryland exercise! YAY, sweating! If you come to this info session, you will get first pick on signing up for the Debs session, so please come so that you can join us in January!
We are hoping to get a reasonable idea of the number of people who will be coming on Sunday, so please fill out this brief registration form.
In advance of this meeting, some things you might want to know:
We intend to start the session in mid January, but we won't have the official dates until after mid December, due to how we schedule with the venue. At this point, tentatively plan on January 15 or January 22 as our first practice session.
Cost for this session is $75, plus $75 for WFTDA insurance = $150. If you are affiliated with another league, and will be renewing your WFTDA insurance on your own. You also have to have personal insurance (like from Blue Cross)
Gear: you will need, by mid January, quad skates, helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, knee pads, mouth guard. You can buy all this stuff at Derby 4 All. If we can give you any advice, and it's not just because we want to support our amazing local store - BUY YOUR GEAR IN PERSON!!! Skates are strange, wheels are weird, and you really want a good fit, because nothing sucks more than being in pain while learning something.
Our practice schedule at this point is as follows. This is of course barring any restrictions from not having space at either the Roy Wilkins, Ex Halls A/B, or some offsite (like Wooddale Fun Zone or the Roller Garden). In this session, we generally lose a few Sundays due to odd scheduling items, so keep track on the Debs facebook page and our listserv, which you will get added to after you have paid.
