The subject is Building Science and Enclosure Performance in the DC Region.
It will present an overview of building science and its application to high-performance building enclosures in the DC region, focusing on minimizing energy use while preventing moisture problems. It will also discuss performance guidelines for enclosure assemblies and associated detailing.
About Our Speaker
Timothy J. Duffy, AIA, CSI, LEED AP
Mr. Duffy is an architect licensed in DC, MD and VA with a BS in Building Construction and Master of Architecture, and with more than 30 years’ experience in architecture, planning and construction management. He is a Vice President and Technical Director in Leo A Daly’s DC office and has worked on a wide range of private and public projects in DC, elsewhere in the US and internationally. These include offices, laboratories, GSA Design Excellence, secure and other government facilities, corporate headquarters, educational facilities, mixed-use, hospitality, aviation, high-performance sustainable design and historic preservation. Recent projects include the Corcoran renovation in DC, the new Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, and the Intelligence Community Campus-Bethesda. He has long had a strong interest in building energy performance.
