Award-winning Playwright and Filmmaker David E. Talbert (Almost Christmas, Baggage Claim, First Sunday) returns with his Actors Workshop and Talent Search! Perfect for the professional and the beginner, David E. Talbert's Actors Workshop and Talent Search is a Master Class of art and InspirationThe once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for actors, singers, and comedians to learn, grow, and BE DISCOVERED.

Through 6 hours of hands-on instruction by David E. Talbert, participants will learn elevated acting for stage and screen, advanced technique for auditions and cold reads, and be given the chance to preform monologues and scenes followed with supportive and detailed critique.

Damien McKay, Head of Casting at Universal Pictures, joins the workshop this year as a special guest to interact with students, observe scenes and monologues, and share invaluable insight on what it takes to be a working actor in Hollywood.

AS A BONUS — Everyone who attends the workshop will receive an audition for the chance to be cast in the next David E. Talbert production!

FAQ's

Will the workshop be available in other cities?   Because of David's schedule, DC, NY, Dallas, and Chicago are the only cities he will be visiting this year. 

Can we purchase tickets at the door?   No. Because of the limited seating, all tickets must be purchased on-line in advance.

What is the appropriate age?   This workshop is for participants 18 and over.

Can beginners register?   Yes. This workshop will benefit everyone from beginner to professional.

What is the registration deadline?   Registration will continue online until the event is sold out.

Are there group rates?   No. Group rates are not available.

How will I receive my audition?   Each attendee will receive detailed audition scenes at the close of each workshop and then be required to submit your auditions via a Youtube link within 1 week following the workshop. Those receiving callbacks will be notified via email. The next great talent might be you!

What are the parking instructions?   Please contact the hotel/theater in your corresponding city for parking instructions and rates.

Is there a dress code for the workshop?   For the workshop, please wear something comfortable. Layered clothing is recommended so you can adjust to the temperature of the room. 

Will there be a break during the workshop?   Yes. There will be two 15 minute breaks.

Is there a check in? What is needed?   Yes. Check in will begin 60 minutes before each workshop. Please bring your Eventzilla ticket, printed or via mobile. If for some reason you misplace your ticket or do not have it available on a mobile device, please be ready to present a photo ID.

What materials should I bring to the workshop?   Please bring a copy of the emailed scenes, pencil/pen, and a pad. 

Are we allowed to bring food?   Eating during the workshop is not permitted, however we suggest that you bring food to eat during breaks. For your convenience, a water station will be set up in the room.

Am I allowed to record the workshop?   No. There are no video or audio recordings allowed. All cellphones must be turned off upon entering the room. Anyone caught recording the workshop will be asked to leave with no refund.
