Dr. Chris Caplice serves as Chief Scientist for DAT Freight & Analytics where he leads the development and deployment of shipper facing solutions. Chris concurrently serves as the Executive Director for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Transportation & Logistics where he created and co-directs the MIT FreightLab. Chris has published extensively in academic and business journals on the topic of freight transportation and procurement. He was named the Silver Family Research Fellow and awarded the CSCMP Distinguished Service Award in 2016. Dr. Caplice holds a Ph.D. from MIT in Transportation and Logistics Systems, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI).

Ken Adamo serves as Chief of Analytics at DAT Freight & Analytics, where he is responsible for driving new product development, customer engagement, and industry analysis. Prior to joining DAT, Adamo led pricing and decision science teams at FedEx Logistics. During his tenure in the industry he built innovative pricing and forecasting models, leveraging internal and external data sources to improve internal decision-making and increase profitability. Ken has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and extensively in trade publications as a leading voice on freight market trends. He leads a team of market experts who study every facet of the logistics industry to bring the best available insight to customers. Prior to his career in logistics, Adamo worked in pricing and analytics at a deregulated energy provider. He earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Akron and lives in Northeast Ohio with his wife and three children.

Dean Croke is DAT’s principal industry analyst, bringing 35 years of experience in the fields of data science, supply chain management, risk management and human performance. Prior to joining DAT, Dean was a founder at FleetRisk Advisors (purchased by Qualcomm and now called Omnitracs Analytics), which pioneered the development of reporting and data analytics tools for fleet managers. Dean has held senior leadership roles at FreightWaves, Lancer Insurance and Spireon, where he helped create telematics products for customers in trucking, passenger automotive and insurance. Originally from a family-owned trucking business in Australia, Dean is a CDL holder and an active owner-operator. He owns a 379 Peterbilt show truck known as “The Grumpy Pete”, which even has its own Instagram page.

In addition to his industry work, Lee provides coverage on 20 freight transportation and logistics companies. He is focused on providing differentiated research through channel checks and collaborating with colleagues in adjacent industries. Lee is an articulate public speaker and frequent contributor on Bloomberg television and radio as well as other media outlets. He also speaks at industry conferences as well as company and academic events.
