Who the Event is For

MP6 Consulting LLC is hosting a 2.5-day Dare to Lead™ leadership training for individuals committed to being more courageous leaders at work and in their communities. This training is designed to provide new knowledge, skills, and tools for new leaders as well as seasoned, executive leaders. 

 

About the Dare to Lead™ Program

Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, research professor and author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers. This 2.5-day training focuses on the four skill sets of courage identified through Brené’s research. These skill sets are 100% teachable, making daring leadership possible for all seeking to be brave and cultivate courageous cultures.

Sign in and breakfast are 8:30 am – 9:00 am on each day.

  • Define your call to courage as a leader
  • Understand the role of courage and vulnerability in daring leadership

  • Understand the behaviors of armored versus daring leadership
  • Understand how to develop grounded confidence to replace your armor

 

Skill Set #2: Living Into Our Values

  • Learn how values operate in our lives and their role in integrity and daring leadership
  • Identify your core values and operationalize them into observable behaviors
  • Learn the daring skills that support you in tough conversations

 

Skill Set #3: Braving Trust

  • Understand how trust is built and its role in connection and psychological safety
  • Learn the seven elements of trust and identify observable behaviors for these elements

 

Skill Set #4: Learning To Rise

  • Learn the critical role curiosity and emotional literacy play in developing rising skills
  • Recognize common strategies for offloading emotions and learn more effective behaviors for managing them
  • Understand how our brain is wired for stories and how the stories we create affect our behavior and ability to effectively lead and interact with others
  • Learn how to rumble with our stories

Additional Information

  • Sign in and a light breakfast will occur 8:30-9:00 am on each day of the training. You must sign in and out on each day to receive your certificate and LinkedIn badge.
  • This event will be held at the Emerald Room of the Irish Garden at Wickham Park in Manchester, CT. Please see the photo gallery for a picture of the facility.
  • Please do not arrive to the park earlier than 8:30.  The gates to the park will open at 8:30 for this event only.
  • Parking near the Emerald Room is ample. Please inform the guard upon arrival that you are here for the Dare to Lead™ training with MP6 Consulting so you are not assessed an entrance fee.
  • Click HERE for directions to Wickham Park. The park is located approximately 7 miles from Hartford, CT;  30 miles from Springfield, MA; 20 miles from Bradley International Airport; 70 miles from Providence, RI; and 95 miles from Boston, MA.

  • For out of town guests: There are several hotels near Wickham Park. We are securing a block of rooms at a local hotel at a discounted rate. If you require lodging, please reach out to us to obtain the discount code after registering for the class.  LODGING IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE WORKSHOP FEE.   Participants are responsible for making and paying for their own lodging reservations.  Please contact the hotel directly for any specific requests or to learn of their cancellation policy.
  • A light breakfast, snacks, and beverages will be provided each day. A catered buffet lunch will be provided on Day 1 and Day 2.  Please notify us of any dietary restrictions upon registration.
  • If you require any reasonable accommodations, please advise us no later than August 7.
  • Please dress for comfort. (Jeans are acceptable and welcomed!)

 

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • You can transfer your paid registration to another participant if you notify the organizer (rachel@mp6consulting.com) within 7 days of the training date.
  • If you cancel your registration by July 31, 2020, you will be given a full refund of your registration price minus a $75 cancellation charge.
  • If you cancel your registration after August 3, 2020, you will be refunded half of your registration price. 

 

 

Fine Print

  • Only Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitators are approved to facilitate this workshop at the permission of Dr. Brené Brown and BBEARG (Brené Brown Education and Research Group). Brené Brown will not be facilitating this session. Only certified facilitators are authorized to issue Dare to Lead™ Trained completion certificates and LinkedIn badges to individuals that successfully complete the full training.
  • By signing up for this class, participants agree that MP6 Consulting's facilitation is not therapy, psychological counseling, or social work, even though it may address personal issues or life conditions that impact personal and professional effectiveness. Participants are responsible for their own health and well-being at all times during the facilitation, as in every other area of life.
  • This program may count toward continuing education units (CEUs) for professional certifications. It is the participant's responsibility to check with the appropriate accreditation body to ensure CEU applicability. (Note: MP6 Consulting is looking into the possibility of SHRM Recertification Provider status. We will update that status here if/when it has been approved).

Pam is a certified executive coach, dedicated to working with individuals and teams to create positive change, improve performance and get desired results. She enthusiastically coaches clients with a niche in helping people build healthier relationships and connections. Pam assists clients in identifying who they are, uncovers what they want, and holds them with caring accountability to make it happen. She brings a gift of candor mixed with lightheartedness that makes working with her feel like a breath of fresh air. Pam serves as adjunct faculty for Georgetown University's Leadership Coaching Program where she teaches new coaching students. She coaches leaders to create constructive partnerships where all parties are engaged and working together to get results. Pam brings expertise in developing leaders, teams, and organizations through strong collaborative skills and enthusiasm for positive change. She designed and implemented two corporate universities and three coaching programs. She held organizational effectiveness and leadership coaching roles in Washington, D.C. for the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), served in the role of Deputy Chief Learning Officer with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and also served as a Senior Executive in the role of Deputy Human Resources Director. Prior to working at the SEC, Pam held a variety of leadership and organizational development positions and served as a national trainer and coach during her 20 years of service at the Environmental Protection Agency in Denver, CO. Pam holds a professional coaching credential (PCC); has received certification as a co-active coach from the Coaches Training Institute; and holds two team coaching certifications. She is a certified Dare To Lead Facilitator and is accredited in the Five Behaviors of Cohesive Teams. She holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado and a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa. Pam is certified in the: Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator, DiSC, Change Styles Inventory, and numerous 360 multi-rater feedback assessments including the Leadership Circle Profile. Pam enjoys spending time with family and friends; traveling, reading; and learning. She enthusiastically helps people get what they want and has a good time making it happen.

Executive Coach and Facilitator

Rachel Verlik is the President of MP6 Consulting, where she serves as a leadership coach, facilitator and consultant. Rachel has over 20 years of business experience, including 13 years of Federal service as both an independent contributor and as a leader. She has served at agencies such as the U.S. Coast Guard and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Her leadership roles occurred in organizations that were experiencing major systemic and organizational change after national events such as 9/11 and the 2008 financial crisis. Rachel is a warm, dynamic and down to earth facilitator, partnering with organizations and teams to identify goals, as well as the ability to unearth and mitigate challenges and hurdles to meet those goals. In addition, Rachel facilitates a variety of leadership development programs, including design, development and delivery of a 9-month cohort-based leadership development program. She is well known to create strong community cohesion in these programs. In her coaching practice, Rachel has a practical, results-oriented approach, focused on her philosophy of coaching the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. She uses her warmth, humor, industry/leadership experience, and down-to-earth personality to establish rapport and build relationships with her clients. She works with clients to identify their values and deconstruct their internal stories with the goal to identify new possibilities and help clients reach their desired futures. Her interest areas are mid-level leaders, career transitions, resiliency, communication, confidence, emotional intelligence, and new/ emerging leadership development programs Rachel holds a Bachelor of Social Work from James Madison University and a Masters in e-Commerce from George Mason University. She also studied at the Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain as well as the Federal Executive Institute. Rachel completed the highly acclaimed Leadership Coaching Certificate Program at Georgetown University. She is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
