Discover the ancient cities along the Adriatic Coast on a 8-day cruise aboard a chartered yacht. Unlike traditional cruises, we'll be aboard a 30-passenger yacht and spending nights in ports of call. That means we'll be able to explore each city on our itinerary during the peak times for photography, including sunset and twilight. Along the way, you'll get expert photographic instruction, learn mobile workflow, and discover creative approaches to travel photography with professional photographer Jason P. Odell.

Split, Croatia

Itinerary

Day 0: Arrive Split, Croatia and transfer to our group hotel. 

Day 1: Free day in Split. Start with a photo orientation session with Jason, followed by an evening photo walk to explore Split. We will use this day to set up our cameras and discuss mobile workflow options for travel photography, including Lightroom CC (mobile).

Day 2: Transfer to our chartered yacht. Get settled in your cabin before attending a Welcome reception followed by dinner this evening.

Day 3: SPLIT – BOL – HVAR

Morning guided walking tour of Split shows us the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Set sail towards Bol, a small town on Island Brac, for a swim at the Golden Horn. Enjoy the 530 m. long golden pebble beach said to be the best in Croatia. It is unique in that it changes shape and position depending on the winds. Afterward head to Hvar, one of the most popular islands in the Adriatic. A sightseeing tour of Hvar town shows you the first public theatre in Europe and many more historical sites. Spend evening and night in Hvar.

Day 4: HVAR – BIŠEVO – VIS

Leaving Hvar we will have an early morning cruise towards Biševo island to visit the Blue Cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon. Continue to the island of Vis, once a strategic naval Yugoslav base and closed to the public. Photo walks and evening shooting in Vis. Overnight in Vis.

Day 5: VIS – KORCULA

While enjoying breakfast overlooking the blue waters of Adriatic we continue our cruise towards the Korcula island best known as the birthplace of Marco Polo. Stop for lunch in one of the secluded bays en route. Afternoon arrival in Korcula followed by a guided walking tour of one of the best preserved medieval cities in the Mediterranean. Korcula has an abundant choice of restaurants to enjoy your gourmet experience and there are numerous bars and clubs for those looking for evening entertainment. Overnight in Korcula.

Day 6: KORCULA – MLJET

In the morning head further south to the Island of Mljet. Join the Cruise Manager for a stroll to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National Park and enjoy the boat ride to the St Mary Isle to visit an ancient Benedictine monastery, an old abbey and a Church dating back to the 12th Century. Alternatively, you can rent bicycles, scooters or kayaks to explore the National Park or island on your own. Tonight enjoy Captain’s dinner and overnight in port of Pomena.

Day 7: MLJET – SLANO (Oyster tasting)

Morning departure for a small village called Slano on the mainland, a peaceful fishermen’s village and the starting point to Ston, another once fortified small village famous for its oysters. After exploring the town’s medieval ramparts a short coastal walk leads us to an oyster farm to learn more about oysters and tasting this delicious treat. Dinner and overnight on board in Slano.

Day 8:  SLANO – ELAPHITI ISLANDS – DUBROVNIK

Early morning cruise to Elaphiti islands with swimming stop on one of the secluded bays to spend the morning. Before lunch sail to Dubrovnik, before we moor at Gruž port we cruise alongside the old city walls, while lunch is served. After docking join a guided tour with panoramic ride and transfer included. You will visit the Franciscan Monastery with Europe’s third oldest pharmacy, the Rector’s Palace and the Cathedral. Enjoy the last night of cruise exploring the magnificent town of Dubrovnik.

Day 9: DUBROVNIK DEPARTURE

After breakfast it’s time to disembark. You will be transferred to our group hotel in Dubrovnik.

Day 10: Transfer to airport and return home

About our Yacht

M/S EQUATOR was built in 2017 with latest state of the art equippment and amenities. 18 modern non smoking double or twin cabins are fully equipped with A/C, LCD TV, safe deposit box, FREE Wi-Fi, fire alarm, smoke detectors, shower, hair dryer, luggage space under the bed, cupboard & wardrobe cabinet with window or 2 portholes. Air conditioned salon – restaurant on the upper deck  with bar, big screen LCD TV, corner table for buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi, loud speakers and audio system for announcements by Captain or Cruise manager and beautiful large windows for complete passenger satisfaction. Outside fully covered terrace with sitting area, tables and chairs that can be closed with removable plastic windows ( in case of winds ) that are usually open for a breathtaking “sea view”. Ship has a platform for swimming, 2 ladders with handrails for an easy water access. Also has 2 outdoor showers and public bathroom.
