This event is in partnership with NASW-NJ:

Creating Safe Spaces for Queer & Questioning Youth in Mental Health Practices
Sponsored by Bridge to Balance. Learn more at https://bridge2balance.com/

This Community Conversation is being presented free for social workers, their clients, and the general public.
It is not CEU eligible.

This presentation will focus on creating safe spaces for queer and questioning youth in mental health practices. Participants will explore the impact of using individual pronouns and preferred names, learn to work with and support families of queer and transgender youth, and discover how to build a safe space that facilitates open discussion with young people. Youth in the LGBTQ+ community are particularly vulnerable and many do not find safety and support in their homes and schools; this conversation will help strengthen practitioner skills in work with this population and build a framework for enabling young people to feel upheld in representing themselves with authenticity.

Virtual meeting will be sent to you in your confirmation email.
