All early years practitioners and parents will sometimes have worries about children's behaviour. Children are not born programmed to behave in a way that is acceptable to society. As they grow they gradually begin to understand the rules and acceptable behaviour. However, this cannot be achieved without adult support.

In addition, the lockdowns and isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic has caused many young children to exhibit behaviours they would not normally do - each of which brings additional challenges for early years practitioners.

Ofsted-registered early years providers must make provisions for the development of these skills. The EYFS encourages the development of ‘positive behaviour’ such as:

  • Emotional Intelligence: Promoting the management of feelings and behaviour.
  • Social Skills: Encouraging children to form positive, respectful relationships.
  • Cognitive Skills: Increasing self-confidence and self-awareness.

Our new half day course will help you review your approaches and strategies and respond to the challenges of lockdown and isolation. It will consider :

-      How To Develop Reasoning And Problem Solving

-       How To Develop Emotional Intelligence

-       The Creation Of A Positive Behaviour Policy

-       Defining Your Expectations For Positive Behaviour.

-       Strategies To Manage Difficult Behaviour

-       Conflict In The Classroom : Strategies For Managing

-       Self-Regulation Of Behaviour

-       Using Non-Verbal Communication

-       Language Development And Behaviour

-       Memory And Behaviour : the links

All participants will receive a set of materials to be used in school.
