CAMERA EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

This is not about who has the biggest or best camera or lens, but about creating images with what you have! If you don't have some of this gear, please don't rush to buy it. You can complete the workshop with your existing equipment. Any camera will do, but remember some do have limitations, especially for macro work.

Camera, lenses (Including a macro lens if you have one), spare batteries and memory cards, tripod, groundsheet (something to sit on if ground is wet).

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • A better understanding of the craft of photography, especially manual camera control.
  • More confidence when shooting and a more thoughtful approach that results in more "keepers."
  • The ability to create more visually appealing and powerful images through an increased visual awareness and better understanding of composition and construction of images.
  • An improved ability to self asses, self critique and evaluate the students own work.
  • A basic understanding of common Photoshop tools and how to use them to enhance the students images.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OR DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:

This workshop involves a few km of walking outdooors, so good walking shoes are advisable and depending on the weather, some wet weather gear or hat and sun protection. We will be walking to Floriade and back again from Civic, but you can drive your car if this is to far to walk.

This workshop is not catered (other than tea & coffee) so attendees will be responsible for their own snacks/brunch which can be brought with them or purchase at the nearby cafes in Civic.

THE WORKSHOP WILL GO AHEAD EVEN IN WET WEATHER, BUT MAY BE HELD ENTIRELY AT THE CPS ROOMS IF WEATHER IS REALLY BAD.
