Lady Hawks at COSSA Park has a tradition of providing women shooters of all levels and experiences who want to learn new skills and improve old ones a place to have a safe and fun day at the range. Lady Hawks is open to all women at least 18 years old who are, or want to be, safe, responsible, and effective pistol shooters.
Lady Hawks is a progression of three levels of instruction with the majority of instruction conducted on the firing line handling and shooting pistols.
The Fundamentals of Shooting is entry level instruction that teaches the basics of pistol marksmanship with a primary focus on safe and responsible gun handling. Instruction is provided to small groups under the direct guidance of experienced instructors. This is a great class for the first-time shooter or for anyone who wants a refresher class.
The Skills Building level is designed to teach fundamental shooters how to be good shooters and good shooters how to be better shooters. Instructors assess each shooter’s skills and abilities and provide guidance and instruction matched to the individual shooter.
Advanced level instruction is based on situational scenarios and is offered to women who complete the Skills Building level.
Lady Hawks’ FIRST PRIORITY is gun safety. To ensure safety, the number of attendees is limited. Registration is required and on-line registration is preferred. There are two on-line registration categories: New Lady Hawks for first-time attendees and Returning Lady Hawks who have attended a previous 2019 session.
Registration at the range on the day of the session is only accepted on a space available basis.
Bring your own ammunition and pistol. Lady Hawks has a limited number of loaner pistols available if you don’t have your own.
Eye and ear protection are required. Bring your own but loaners are available as needed.
