Join us at this summer sanctuary in the city for a repertory workshop based on Ellen Cornfield's Pas de Detour!

Robust and voracious phrases bullet through the space at breakneck speed, with dancers hurtling into the air and then plummeting to the ground. In contrast is a fluid, mellifluous vocabulary that grounds and permeates the chaos of uncertainty and interruption with a resonating calm.

Ellen will teach both group material and duet material, and put it together in a version unique to this workshop and the participating dancers. She will be assisted in this workshop by several of her dancers.

This workshop runs August 15-19 and August 22-26, from 12:30pm-5pm each day. Each day begins with technique class from 12:30-2pm, followed by repertory movement from 2:15-5pm. Attending both weeks of the workshop is preferable, but dancers can register for an individual week if needed. The two weeks will culminate in an informal showing on August 26.

Workshop Level: Intermediate to Advanced

The technique class from 12:30-2pm is included in the workshop fee, but those unable to attend the full workshop may take the class at a $10 drop-in rate.
