Connecting the Dots will happen on Sunday, September 18th, 2016!
Colleges across the country will be hosting as many bystander trainings on their campus as their resources will allow. If you have 2 trainers, you’ll schedule one training. If you have 20 trainers, see if you can fill 10 trainings simultaneously! Our goal is to have hundreds of colleges and thousands of students across the country participating in a bystander training at the exact same time. This will be a time to engage students, faculty and staff that have already been trained as well! We will be working together to launch a social media campaign that will capture the momentum and excitement of the day! For example, previously trained students will be invited to attend trainings and live tweet the action! We’ll be using every social media platform known to humankind, and capitalizing on the genius of students to draw the country into this exciting day of action. Green Dot etc., Inc., along with our partner campuses; Mizzou, Penn State, and Florida State University invite you to join us on this extraordinary day of change, prevention and inspiration!
Times and Cost:
These trainings are going to happen at the same time. Below are the training times based on time zone:
- Alaska Time Zone: 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
- Pacific Time Zone: 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
- Mountain Time Zone: 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
- Central Time Zone: 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
- Eastern Time Zone: 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
There is no fee/cost to join this event! Just a commitment to put on awesome bystander trainings for your campus!
Deadline:
As we are working towards creating national press for this event, we need to be able to share how many campuses are participating. The final deadline to register for the event is September 1st, 2016. However, we would like to get an idea of how many campuses are participating in the next week. If you think this is something your campus will most likely participate in, please register by Friday March 11th.
