Confidence Training Outline

Learn how body language is important

Personal interactions are only half the battle. How one presents themselves is half of the battle. How they present themselves to others, and how they are perceived and responded to by others, is a big part of how they look. The course will teach learners how to improve their posture, use proper gestures, and when they are most useful. It also teaches how to interpret the same posture as their peers, and the subtle movements and differences between them.

Encourage positive, cooperative attitudes at work

The workplace and their peers are two of the most important factors that can increase a person’s confidence. When confidence is built through close relationships with peers, the factors that could undermine it can be replaced by those that encourage it. To help them build trust and friendships with their peers and coworkers, they are shown how to make these connections.

Enhance your communication skills

Communication refers to the exchange and interpretation between two people. Failure to communicate is possible if one party fails to clearly convey their message and/or fails in understanding the meaning of the messages sent by others. This can lead to one party feeling confused, unheard and unintelligible, and the other being unable or unwilling to listen. These communication problems can be a problem at best and a disaster at worst. Communication is an essential part of life and work. However, it is complex because its components, speaking and listening, can be subtly difficult to master. Participants will learn both the correct methods of speech and the more difficult task, listening. The goal is to produce learners who are comfortable in both areas.

Develop a sense of self worth

Confidence is built by being able to draw strength from themselves and their strengths, while being able to comfortably overcome any fears or anxieties they might have when faced with situations that may present them. The trainer will help participants discover their limits and build self-worth, allowing them to be solid pillars of their own.

Find out when and how to assert yourself

One of the most obvious uses of confidence is the ability to bargain or otherwise get their way in the workplace. However, this is a delicate and difficult tool to use. Too much assertiveness can be seen as negative behavior while too little can be seen as an ineffective way of expressing oneself. It is important to strike a balance. While context and other factors can affect how confidence is applied in a workplace, participants will learn how to assert themselves in various situations with the help and guidance of the trainer. They will also learn which mannerisms are most appropriate for which situations.
