Saturday, October 26 2019 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM [CST]

Wetherby Park, 2400 Taylor Drive, Iowa City, IA, 52240, United States.

Join your fellow neighbors anytime between 1 - 3 pm to help prepare the Wetherby Edible Forest for more free edibles.

Food security is an important issue for every community and the Wetherby Edible Forest aims to secure access to food for everyone, while fostering a healthy ecological system that supports monarchs, honeybees and other desired insects.

Tasty food and refreshments will be provided along with fun tours.

Publications will be available about growing food and creating habitat for desired insects.

Join your fellow neighbors anytime between 10 am and noon.

Volunteer activities include:

  • Weeding: Pull a few weeds to keep the edibles healthy.
  • Plant moving: We'll move berry bushes to happier places.
  • Edging: Place edging and flagstones to define pathways.

Please bring...

  • Comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
  • Gloves (leather ones, if you have them).
  • Containers for seeds and berries.
  • Gardening tools: Loppers, pruners, steel rakes, wheel barrows, spades.

This project would not be possible without these sponsors and supporters. Please frequent these generous organizations to thank them for donations of materials and funds.
