“Rhythm,” as American dancer and musician Gabrielle Roth once said, “is the mother tongue.” Everyone can experience the magic, fun and stress-releasing benefits of a community drum circle, regardless of age, race, religion, ability, language or musical experience.

Bring your rhythmical sprit, and your drums, percussion instruments and dancing feet to The Bain Co-op for a family-friendly community drum circle. People of all ages and levels of musical and drumming expertise are welcome. You don't have to be a drummer to participate, or even own a drum - beginners are especially encouraged to attend.

NO MUSICAL OR DRUMMING EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED! ALL DRUMS AND PERCUSSION EQUIPMENT ARE PROVIDED.

Drum circles are a fun & exciting way to connect with your friends, family, fellow community members & yourself through recreational music-making. Drum circles also create a supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to participate at their own level, without any pressure or judgment.

Rufus Glassco, of Rhythm Kingdom, will be facilitating us through a variety of rhythms, games and activities that will help everyone learn the basics of hand drumming, as well as improvisation techniques, to feel more confident and ready to join one of the many recreational non-facilitated circles in Southern Ontario.

Join us to drum, dance or just enjoy the incredible spontaneity of community drum circle music!

Limited spaces are available. Purchase your tickets online to save $5. Attend for online ticket price ($15) if you bring your own drum.

Rufus Glassco is a Drum Circle Facilitator and a health and wellness drummer based out of Toronto, Ontario. He facilitates many health and wellness drum circles throughout the year, and is a trained HealthRHYTHMS, Drumbeat and Rhythm2Recovery facilitator. He works with children and older adults, with people recovering from cancer and mental illness, and facilitates corporate wellness, resiliency and communications workshops.
