About the Event

For the very first time, WCCA is hosting a Community Action Summit to finish out Community Action Month in May.  We know that in order to make a difference in our community, we need to have strong partnerships and collaborative movements.  Public awareness and open conversations are crucial to fight poverty. This event will foster these conversations, provide networking opportunities, and build awareness. We hope that it brings the community together to learn more about the community initiatives that help low-income individuals.

About the Organizer

At WCCA, we provide assistance and support to individuals who experience economic instability. Through 21 programs, we confront the challenges of our participants. These programs are focused on four major areas: Nutrition, Housing, Education & Self-Sufficiency. If someone requires support that we do not offer, we help them navigate the complicated web of community resources. We also help communities offer economic opportunity to low-income residents. Our network of local partnerships encourage systemic support. Finally, we believe that low-income individuals need to be engaged and active in building these communities. We provide opportunities for economically disadvantaged individuals to serve in leadership capacities. These approaches keep our organization focused on and equipped with the knowledge we need to confront the complexity of poverty. Learn more about us and our programs at www.wccaweb.com
