About the Event

LOGISTICS: Fall Session: October 14-16, 2016. Fall quarterly meeting will take place at Sierra Friends Center in Nevada City, CA.

CPQM is a gathering of unprogrammed monthly meetings in Northern California and Northern Nevada (list of meetings). It is a part of Pacific Yearly Meeting (PYM). Listening to God’s guidance is our theme for our weekend together. We welcome you to come and listen together with Friends from northern California and Nevada. We will delight in the surroundings of Sierra Friends Center and learn how Spirit is moving among Friends in our meetings. We will consider our theme in Meeting for Worship, in Worship-Sharing, during our Plenary sessions and throughout our time together. We look forward to joining with you as we listen to God’s guidance among Friends of all ages. “There’s something about coming together and listening together to God as a community that is full of life, and full of conflict and challenge, and to me, that’s what makes Quakerism beautiful.” C. Wess Daniels Quaker Speak Season 1.

REGISTER EARLY: Register by Tuesday, October 4th, 2016. If you have not registered by then you are still welcome to come but will need to communicate with the Registar. Registrations received after the deadline (10/4/16) will incur a $20 late fee per family. Please let us know of any special needs, including financial assistance, before the deadline. If you are only coming for part of the time, please exit this page and complete the Long Registration Form to register (email Mica at mica.estrada3@gmail.com if you need to get a copy of it).

COSTS : Go to next page or look at registration form. No one is turned away for lack of funds. If you want to attend and can’t afford it, first check with your own meeting for financial assistance. We encourage Meetings to finance some or all of the cost of attendance and if necessary will match an amount with CPQM funds. Contact the Registrar before the deadline with a request for assistance after requesting an amount from your meeting. Teens and young Friends are especially encouraged to make use of this opportunity. Consider making a donation to CPQM to help others attend.

About the Organizer

This event is organized by College Park Quarterly. There are unprogrammed and programmed Friend (Quaker) meetings for worship. Unprogrammed Friends meetings gather in silence for worship, and programmed meetings usually have a pastor and have worship similar to Protestant services. Local meetings, which have weekly Meetings for Worship, are called Monthly Meetings because they hold a Meeting for the purpose of business once a month. They are organized by geographic region into larger Quarterly Meetings, which are organized into yet-larger Yearly Meetings. CPQM is a gathering of unprogrammed monthly meetings in Northern California and Northern Nevada (list of meetings). It is a part of Pacific Yearly Meeting (PYM). Another quarterly meeting in PYM is the Southern California Quarterly Meeting, which includes Monthly Meetings in Southern California and Southern Nevada. IF YOU HAVE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS ABOUT REGISTRATION, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT MICA ESTRADA AT 760-613-2982 OR MICA.ESTRADA3@GMAIL.COM.
