Code Workshop Series 1 - South Central WI, Fort HealthCare, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, 53538, United States.

Lauzon Life Safety Consulting presents an in-depth training series focusing on the 2012 Life Safety Code as it applies to hospitals and nursing homes.

There are many ways to learn a topic; there are webinars, training videos, and boot camps, but it is just not the same as having the face to face experience of classroom style training that is in-depth, but not overwhelming.

We understand the difficulties with freeing up staff in order for them to be able to attend such training, so we are offering monthly, in-depth training in 6 hour segments in multiple areas of Wisconsin in order to maximize understanding and minimize overtime and travel expenses.

Each training series includes six sessions designed to minimize costs and maximize understanding.

Feb 21 - Session 1: "Key Concepts" introduces attendees to the various AHJ's, applicable codes, occupancies, construction types, egress, and doors.  Even experienced staff will benefit from going back to the foundation of the Life Safety Code.  The concepts discussed here will enable you to understand all of the intricacies of the code and why much of the time the answer is "it depends." Attendees will receive a binder for collecting handouts at each of the subsequent sessions.

March 30 - Session 2: "Rated Enclosures" and compartmentalization are the basis behind all of the protective measures required by the Life Safety Code.  Topics will include exits, smoke compartments, hazardous rooms, vertical openings, separations, and the requirements for the walls and doors.

April 25 - Session 3: "Non-Rated Enclosures" includes corridors, suites, ceilings, and finishes and decorations.

May 23 - Session 4 "Construction": Understand the steps that are involved in planning, preparing for, and implementing a construction project that will ensure that your patients are protected and that you aren't left scratching your head or having to answer to surveyors after the contractors have left.

June 22 - Session 5 "Inspections":  This session will go over the survey process, documentation, and what inspections you are required to perform.

July 20 - Session 6: "Utility Systems" goes into the specific installation and inspection requirements for fire alarms, sprinklers, generators, electrical systems, HVAC, and plumbing.

Certificates of completion will also be provided via email to each attendee of the whole series.

Lauzon Life Safety Consulting offers the best and most affordable inspection, consultation, and training in the Life Safety Code and Wisconsin regulations for hospitals, nursing homes, CBRF's, ASC's, ESRD's, hospital-linked clinics and critical access hospitals in Wisconsin and surrounding areas.
