THE LAST LECTURE - ACHIEVING YOUR CHILDHOOD DREAMS
THURSDAY, JANUARY 25, 6:30 PM
SCHS CHOIR ROOM-Room 56
The Santa Cruz High PTA is proud to present a viewing and moderated discussion of Carnegie Mellon Computer Science Professor Randy Pautsch’s, “The Last Lecture - Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”. Randy was a rockstar - a highly popular professor who routinely packed an auditorium. The film features his last impassioned lecture before pancreatic cancer claimed his life.
The film is about defining your goals, and things you are good at, and then going after them. It is intended to be both motivational and thought provoking, and is for both parents and students. There will be a moderated discussion following the film led by SCHS parent Sandy Wells, with two students from the Principal’s Advisory Committee.
What is your plan for achieving these dreams?
Are there dreams you had when you were younger that you’ve given up on, outgrown, or revised?
If you are a parent, are there dreams that you had as a child that you’ve not realized? If so, what do you think prevented you from achieving them?
Do you have someone in your life who is helping you achieve a dream?
List three things that you’re good at.
