CHRIST AT THE END OF LIFE: Catholic Teaching on Palliative Care and Physician-Assisted Suicide
Friday, September 18-Sunday, September 20, 2020

In this workshop we will study together the rich and ancient Catholic tradition concerning medical care at the end of life.  There is great confusion and misunderstanding on these subjects in our day, particularly since the recent legalization of physician-assisted suicide in California.  We will acquaint ourselves with the need for a pastoral, balanced approach to these difficult issues in light of authentic Catholic magisterial teaching.

Fr. Luke Dysinger has been a monk of Valyermo since 1980. He is a priest and a physician who writes and teaches in the fields of mystical theology and biomedical ethics. He received a D.Phil. in patristics at Oxford University and is professor of church history and moral theology at St. John's Seminary in Camarillo, CA.
