ABOUT THE EVENT

We take ourselves, both the beauty and the brokenness, with us into every relationship.  Relationships can be the source of some of our greatest joy and also the source of some of our greatest pain.  No matter where you find yourself on this journey as a couple, it is common for couple's to experience moments of disconnection. What if you were able to make sense of this disconnection and make space to learn new ways of seeing your relationship through the lens of attachment while journeying together to foster a more secure bond?

Join us for a 1.5 day experiential and faith based couple’s retreat (Friday evening 6:00pm-9:00pm & Saturday 9am-5pm, lodging is not included) for you and your partner, where relationship specialist Sharon Hicks, LPC of Kintsukuroi Counseling will guide a group of couples through research proven methods of identifying and de-coding negative communication patterns in which couples can often become stuck, help couples learn how to interpret bids for connection, and invite couples to take time in private guided conversations to foster lifelong, meaningful connection.  You can expect to walk away from the retreat with new insight and a shared language to continue these conversations as you strengthen your connection with your loved one.  It is possible to make sense of disconnection, strengthen your bond, and learn new ways of seeing and being with each other as you increase a felt sense of safety and security by learning new moves in your relationship dance!

"I appreciated the combo of group discussion, teaching, and one on one time with my spouse. It helped us tackle big things in a safe space with useful tools."

"This retreat highlighted and gave me hope for things that I had had previously been ready to give up on ever changing in our relationship."

Sharon Hicks, LPC, is passionate about faith, family, and relationships. She invite couples to engage in deeper and more meaningful ways by facilitating safe, emotional connection. Her hope is that every individual that enters her office or participates in one of her retreats feels seen and heard as they actively engage in the process of exploring their own unique story. Exploring deeper longings and motivations below the surface level of often distressing emotions and behaviors, individuals and couples unearth heart felt beliefs about self and others. She takes the deep dive with individuals and couples to difficult personal and relational spaces to help them shed light and hope into some of the most difficult and distressing experiences in their stories. She invites wholeness, healing, restoration, and improved connection with the things and people that matter most. When not in the office she enjoys playing Bach on the piano, sipping coffee with friends and getting new stamps in her passport. Having lived in south east Asia with her family of 6 for a season, she was given the gift of becoming a global citizen which has given her a bigger view of the world and informs her perspective on life.
