Presenter: Lorie Yates (RCSD Science Specialist)

Description:  This is a half-day session that will focus on the layout of the new science framework for high school chemistry and physical science.  We will explore the three dimensions of the new framework (science and engineering practices, crosscutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas) and learn how these dimensions work together.  I will provide a resource guide that will help high school teachers prepare for the implementation of the new standards.  We will explore some lessons/activities that match old and new standards and that can be implemented this coming school year, including, but not limited to, the use of Gizmos.
