Charleston Tea Plantation, Firefly Distillery & Angel Oak Tour

Come along and enjoy some of Charleston's secret gems outside of the city limits. First, sit back and listen to an entertaining historical narrative of the Low Country as you venture to the Charleston Tea Plantation, North America's only tea plantation. Here you will see hundreds of thousands of tea bushes stretching out over acres almost as far as the eye can see. Take delight in the breath-taking scenery as you take a thirty-five minute trolley tour through the plantation with a stop at the greenhouse and a complimentary factory tour. After the tea plantation you will have worked up an appetite so we will stop at the Tattooed Moose, a local beloved Charleston tavern that has even been featured on the Food Network, to grab a bite to eat. After lunch, you'll be on your way to the Firefly Distillery, located on Wadmalaw Island, which is around thirty miles south of Charleston. Firefly is the largest distillery in the state and has become recognized for their sweet tea vodka, moonshines and wines. After your tour of the distillery you will be able to go in the Tasting Room to take part in some samples. Finally, before we begin our trip back to the beach you will get to visit the Angel Oak Tree. At the age of approximately 400 to 500 years old this live oak is reportedly the oldest living thing east of the Rockies. This tour gives you the unique opportunity to experience top Charleston attractions outside of the city-center.
