Infections Risks and Peripheral IVs

Peripherally-inserted intravenous catheters (PIVs) are the most common invasive device used in hospitals, with up to 70% of patients having one at some point during their hospital stay. In this presentation, Michelle DeVries, MHP, CIC will describe the under-appreciated risks of blood stream and other infections associated with PIVs, and discuss evidence-based strategies to reduce the risk of such infections.
