This five-day course provides in-depth knowledge of the CMMC Model and technical background required for an Assessor to successfully participate on a C3PAO assessment team or for a consultant to help prepare an organization for a Level 2 CMMC Assessment. This course is taught by a live CMMC-AB Provisional Instructor and Provisional Assessor and is a combination of lectures, discussions and exercises that will review the CMMC model, draft CMMC Assessment Process, and Assessment Guide. The class presents a variety of scenarios that students will work through to demonstrate the application of the NIST 800-171 Framework/CMMC controls, assessment objectives, and evidence requirements relevant to the CCA learning objectives. Students will receive digital study materials and resources as part of the course.
Course Objectives:
- Learn how to perform, manage, and score assessment objectives in accordance with the established methods and requirements of NIST SP 800-171 DoD Assessment Methodology, Version 1.2.1.
- Understand environmental and infrastructure factors and their impact on assessments
- Determine Level 2 scoping boundaries and asset categorization
- Work through the CMMC Assessment Process through all phases, to gain and understanding of assessment outputs and expectations
Prerequisites:
The CCA Course builds on knowledge from the CCP class. Although passing the CCP Exam is not a prerequisite for participation in the CCA course, it is highly recommended, and we advise students to come prepared with knowledge from the CCP Blueprint.
Certified CMMC Assessor course participants are not permitted to take the CCA exam until they have completed the CCP course and passed the CCP exam. It is highly recommended that students review the CCA Blueprint and requirements for becoming a CMMC Assessor prior to class if they intend to pursue full CCA certification to maximize your learning experience.
After completing the course, students will be eligible to sit for the CCA exam if the have completed the other prerequisites.
