Whether your goal is to begin a new career, enhance your current position, or for your own enrichment, this two-day training will start you off in the right direction! Classes run from 8:00am to 6:00pm Friday and Saturday with an hour for lunch each day. This results in 18 training hours to meet the new CAPPA certification requirements. 

 

This training will cover:

  • How to teach: history of childbirth education, how to teach adults, teaching without bias, evidence-based practices and utilizing research
  • What to teach: pregnancy nutrition & exercise, stages of labor, pain theories, labor support, communication, interventions, postpartum & breastfeeding
  • Putting it together: building your curriculum, business, & marketing

This training is taught by Laura Speece, CLD, CCCE. Laura is an experienced doula & childbirth educator, a CAPPA faculty member, and a Program Director with Vintage Remedies school of natural health. She currently resides in Charlotte, NC with her husband, Eric, and their five children.
