Kirkwood Camp & Confernce Center , 2015 Camp Kirkwood Rd , Watha, NC , 28478, United States.

CAP Kid Camp North Carolina still on, but we are also kicking it up a notch! Since we had to skip Calipalooza, Cap Kid Camp Wisconsin, and Alopeciapalooza, we want to fill up Cap Kid Camp NC and when we do, we are in the position to add one and even, two additional weekends in August. Camp Kirkwood's max occupancy is 80 people, and we would love nothing more than to fill up the camp three times!

Friday, August 14 to Monday, August 17 - Must sellout to have the 2nd camp.

Friday, August 7 to Monday, August 10 - At least 40 people to have the 3rd camp.

Friday, July 31 to Monday, August 3 - At least 40 people to have camp.

I am adding a video link to the last 2 camps, watch it and it will give you an idea of what the camp is like. I am also in the process of devising a plan to get as many mentors to attend to volunteer and speak and join in the fun!

More information will be coming soon, but to get the second camp scheduled we need to sell out the first one. Register at Cap Kid Camp North Carolina.

Why is Cap Kid Camp North Carolina important now, more than ever?

Camp will give our Cap Kids a safe place to heal and a renewed sense of normalcy, Camp will foster the personal connections from past camps and the ability to make more connections for the future. It will build resilience and determination that our CAP Kids will need to move forward in a healthy way before returning to school. And, most importantly, Camp will give all a much-needed break from the news these days!

One more thing: If you already registered for Alopeciapalooza, Calipalooza or Cap Kid Camp Wisconsin, let me know that you want to attend in NC. I will move the registration over and confirm it in an email. I look forward to hosting one, two, or hopefully three amazing camps in NC this August!

All we need is you!

Thank you everyone,

 Jeff Woytovich

P.S. Stay tuned for A Special Virtual Alopeciaaplooza Challenge for the whole family.  More information coming soon!

Look below to check out how cool Kirkwood is and strap in, June is coming soon!

Come experience the 195 beautiful acres of Camp Kirkwood!

What makes Camp Kirkwood especially unique is its location and ability to provide your child with a number of summer camp activities that are usually exclusive to residential camps. Your campers will enjoy activities like zip lines, archery, canoeing, swimming, low and high ropes courses, arts and crafts, hiking, bb guns and more! This year we are providing our campers with pick up locations so that everyone can join in the fun this summer!

For more than 50 years, Camp Kirkwood has welcomed campers, giving them a chance to escape the distraction of modern life and experience God’s breath-taking natural world through exploration and adventure. Camp Kirkwood is located just outside of Watha, North Carolina and is managed by the Y. At Camp Kirkwood, the Y is able to create a one-of-a-kind opportunity for kids to build character, develop self-confidence and encourage self-expression.

Odyssey II High Ropes Course and Zipline

Don't forget about the pool and other amenities offered as well!

  • Indoor and outdoor camping which includes eight cabins (with heating/ac and indoor bath facilities) scattered though the camp. Each cabin is capable of sleeping 8-10 persons bunk style. In the more "rustic" area there are eight screened cabins for a more realistic wilderness experience. These cabins share a central bath house that is within close walking distance of. Lastly, tenting sites are available to the "extremely rustic" camper with fire pits in each.
  • Olympic sized Pool with a separate "kiddie" wading pool and has bath houses attached. It is completely fenced in and is staffed with Red Cross trained lifeguards onsite for all water activities with a certain ratio.
  • Hiking trails and open spaces throughout the camp for field and sporting activities.
  • Tom Sawyer Raft/Boats and Dock
  • Canoeing
  • Kayaking
  • 8 acre lake which is canoe and kayak accessible.
  • Vesper Dell which seats approximately 150 people with breathtaking views of the lake. This area has electric outlets available for screens, Camp Kirkwood Vesper Site sound systems and lighting if desired.
