Prerequisite Canvas Basic Part 1: Overview.

This session will take your course from empty shell to student-ready and study friendly course design.  This hands on workshop will provide personalized guidance and support in building your course. Building a structured foundation for your courses. 

Workshop Objectives:

o    Create your profile in Canvas

o    Overview of the Course Setup Checklist

    • Create a banner for your homepage
    • Customize Course Home Page
    • Edit Course navigation 
    • Create course Modules
    • Add photo and contact information to your syllabus page in Canvas
    • Add module elements (content and activities)
    • Reorganize or delete content if needed
    • Create Weighted Grades

***Recommended items to bring to the workshop:

·         Electronic photo of yourself

·         Welcome script for your students

·         Course Syllabus to upload into your course (can also bring an old syllabus as a reference)

Ideas about how you want to set up your course modules (ex. by week, chapter, unit etc.)
