TRANSFORMATION FOR A NEW CREATION
Friday, April 24-Sunday, April 26, 2020

This weekend retreat will explore the mysticism of two of the 20th century's profound spiritual mentors: the French Jesuit scientist Teilhard de Chardin & the American philosopher & contemplative practitioner Beatrice Bruteau.  Her theology rests on Teilhard's vision.  Whereas Teilhard saw the grand cosmic scheme of Christ in evolution, Beatrice developed an understanding of the human person in evolution.  She invites us to participate in the divine ecstasy that leads to personal transformation and a new creation.

Fr. Stephen Coffey, a Massachusetts native, is a monk of the Camaldolese Congregation of the Order of St. Benedict and lives at the Monastery of the Risen Christ in San Luis Obispo, where he is director of oblates.  He is a retreat director, spiritual director, and is involved in other formation ministries at the Hermitage in Big Sur and at San Lorenzo Seminary in Santa Ynez.  He is a graduate of St. John's School of Theology in Collegeville, MN and holds degrees in Christian Spirituality from Creighton in Omaha and in Pastoral Leadership from Chaminade in Honolulu.
