Seminar description:

This provides a good overall grounding about being an Election Agent, and is useful to anyone who wants to be an agent, candidate or campaign manager.  This seminar is suitable for all members and will include short lectures, group work and practical exercises. 

 

Who should attend this Seminar:

Anyone who wants to be an agent, candidate or campaign manager.  It will really be in the interests of each local party to have someone attend and take advantage of this free training.  Even if they don't wish to be an agent themselves - this is an opportunity to ensure that at least one person on your team is absolutely up to date with crucial updates and recent changes!

 

What will this short seminar will cover:

  • What is an Election Agent?
  • What is the difference between an Election Agent and a Campaign Manager?
  • Who runs the election campaign – the Election Agent, the Candidate, the Campaign Manager or the local party?
  • What the law says about elections, the responsibilities of the Election Agent, the Candidate, the Campaign Manager and the party?
  • Data Protection
  • The election campaign
  • Election Day
  • After the election

 

The Program for the day:

The day will be made up of two sessions: Session one 10:30 – 13:00, Lunch 13:00 – 13:30, Session two 13:30 – 16:30 - Each session will have a 15 min comfort brake.

 

By the end of the day you will:

  • Know the role of the Election Agent, the Campaign Manager and how they differ.
  • Have a basic understanding of election law.
  • The importance of Data Protection.
  • How to run an Election Day
