During the workshop, students will learn calligraphy techniques, gain insights into the history of writing and create their own calligraphy on kimonos. The leaders of the workshop are great calligraphers and artists Brody Neuenschwander and Monika Marek-Lucka.

Brody Neuenschwander is an artist, calligrapher and art historian, who has taught and exhibited throughout Europe, the United States and Japan. Neuenschwander is currently making a three-part television series on the origins and future of the world’s great calligraphic traditions. Commissioned by the BBC, Arte and PBS, the series studies the origins of writing in the Middle East, China and Central America.

The workshop is organised only for PJATK students.

Lectures and performance, as well as final students exhibition, are open to visitors without registration and entrance fees.

The workshop, exhibition, performance and the lecture of Brody Neuenschwander will be held in The Asia and Pacific Museum.
