C.S. LEWIS, PRAY-ER AND TEACHER OF PRAYER

How does a boy who gave up Christianity because God failed to answer prayers for a dying mother become a best-selling Christian teacher of prayer? Come to our C. S. Lewis workshop, and feel free to join the Benedictine monks in their prayers. In morning and afternoon conferences, Dr. Ford will lead discussions of all of Lewis’s books, essays, poems, examples, pictures, and stories about prayer. (A bibliography is available
for those who want to start the reading.
)

DR. PAUL FORD has been reading C.S. Lewis since he was fifteen years old (since 1962). It has become an internationally recognized expert on the life and writings of C.S. Lewis and author of the award-winning book Companion to Narnia (now in its fifth edition, HarperCollins, 2005) and the Pocket Companion to Narnia (HarperCollins, 2005).  His most recent Lewis-related publications are Yours, Jack: Spiritual Direction from C.S. Lewis (San Francisco: HarperOne, 2008) and Words to Live By: A Dictionary for the Mere Christian (San Francisco: HarperCollins, 2007)
