THANK YOU FOR REGISTERING TO VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME TO COMPLETE THESE NEEDED PROJECTS AT BROOK RIDGE!

Projects to be completed, and these are prioritized by legal needs and safety needs:

1.  Repairs to three existing corduroy bridges.

* Bridge one:  Improve drainage and replace missing logs using native materials near the bridge.  We will not cut any standing, live trees.   We may need to install a water bar to redirect water, TBD.

* Bridge two:  Again, only using native materials found on the ground, refill missing timbers to prevent tire contact on sensitive soils.  Drainage is not required.

* Bridge Three: Same as above, located on the same trail as #2 above.

2.  Stump removal and mitigation along the main trail (Y shaped road) is the first priority.  A second priority is stumps within the multiple loop trails.  The primary goal is to improve ease of navigation to get to the fun trail loops, and improve emergency access throughout the property.  T

3.  Brush clearing and weed whacking.  The priority is going to have to be the main trails, and a secondary goal is the multiple loop trails.  Thorns are a problem, and it is nearly impossible to move along any trail without cutting one's legs and getting them caught in your show laces.  This is important because it reduces the user experience on this property.

4.  Finish recording GPS tracks in one area of trails, consisting of three trail sections.  I have GPS'd over 30 miles of trails.

Based on turn out and volunteers, I will assign team leaders and teams during our tail gate safety session and knock things out in order of importance.

What we will be looking for for equipment:

Work Gloves, boots, bug spray, eye protection

Chainsaws, shovels, ground rakes, weed whackers, hand saws, two way radios for team leaders.  Continue registering to select the tools you have and will be bringing.

Thank you in advance, let's kick some ass.

Our objective is to complete these projects and HAVE FUN with zero injuries.
