The 2020 British Dog Grooming Championship will take place on Sunday 26 April at the Stadium MK, Milton Keynes, as part of the Petindex trade show.

 1) Newcomer - groomers with less than two years' experience - competes in the morning only
2) Open – All contestants with over two years' grooming experience but have never won their categories can enter the “Open” class and will stay 12 months even if  they attain a victory. Contestants will enter the “Champion” class, where existing, the year after only in the categories they won and only if the victory was attained in a class of, at least, 5 contestants; otherwise another gold medal must be won in a bigger class
3) Champion – Contestants that have already won in the same category at a competition can be admitted in “Champion” class

Groomers enter either the Newcomer competition (open to student groomers and those with less than two years' grooming experience); or in the Open or Champion class. Competitors choose to compete with either one or two dogs in the following classes.

NB: To challenge for UK Groomer of the Year, a competitor MUST have competed with two dogs.

* All competitors are allowed 1 assistant to attend for FREE.  Family & Friends must register as a visitor and wont be allowed access to the arena until Petindex opens at 9am.*

All morning classes start at 8.30am. Afternoon classes start at 1pm. Class winners go on to be judged for the overall winner of their Group.

The Open and Champion winners are then judged at the end of the day by the Groomer of the Year judge to determine the 2020 Groomer of the Year.

The Newcomer of the Year will be judged at 11.45am from the 1st place newcomer class winners by a judge still to be confirmed.
