Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of challenging symptoms. Brainspotting is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with BioLateral sound, which is deep, direct, powerful yet focused and containing.

Through lecture, live demonstration and small group practice participants will learn to do the following:

  • Define the components of Brainspotting
  • Utilize the techniques of “Inside window”, “Outside window” and “Gazespotting”
  • Define how Brainspotting can be applied to Trauma, Dissociation, Sports psychology, Somatic conditions
  • Demonstrate the theories and practices of Brainspotting

Steve Sawyer is a highly experienced clinician and trainer with a broad span of experience in settings including Outpatient, Residential, School and Wilderness therapeutic realms. He is the Chief Clinical Consultant for the New Vision Wilderness group of wilderness treatment programs. Steve has been through all Phases of Brainspotting training and is a highly experienced Brainspotting Phase 1 and 2 trainer giving trainings across the country. Steve is additionally staff with the Institute of Heartmath, works collaboratively with the Trauma Center of Boston, and spends time with many of the Trauma Masters like Stephan Porges, Bessel Van Der Kolk, Gabor Mate, Joe Spinazolla and Robert Scaer .
