If you are going to bring a Patient for the live Patient portion on Friday afternoon (Botox), Saturday afternoon (Filler) please make sure you have pt health history, Consent, copy of TN State license and current proof of Liability declaration emailied to amartin@agd.org 2 weeks before course.
Course Overview:
This intensive two-day hands-on training workshop explores the applications of Botulinum Toxin A (Botox®, Xeomin®) as well as hyaluronic acid dermal fillers (Restylane®, Juvederm®). The program will focus on the most commonly requested areas of treatment. Presentation will include a cadaver dissection review of all pertinent structures of the face. Detailed pharmacology, how the face ages, patient selection, proper asepsis, documentation and informed consent as well as adverse events and their management will be covered. Each day included hands-on live patient injections in the afternoon session.
Course Objectives:
Discuss the history, safety, pharmacology and preparation and handling of botulinum toxin A (Botox®, Xeomin®) and currently available hyaluronic acid dermal fillers (Restylane®, Juvederm® and Belotero Balance®)
Understand facial anatomy and facial aging as it applies to injectables
Describe indications and contraindications for facial injectables
Understand patient selection for facial rejuvenation
Understand and demonstrate proper asepsis
Demonstrate proper diagnosis, marking and injection techniques
Avoidance and treatment of potential adverse events
Discuss proper documentation and informed consent

About the Clinician:
Dr. Meinecke is a graduate of the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. She has been in private practice for the past 25 years in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, Restoration of Implants, and Facial Esthetics. She has completed her fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry. The Academy of Laser Dentistry certified her in lasers. She currently serves as the President for the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry, National Delegate for the AGD and on the National Government Relations Council. Additionally, Dr. Meinecke served as clinical faculty at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences and Pathology. Dr. Meinecke has lectured nationally on Facial Injectables (including Botox and Dermal Fillers) since 2009.
