BOOK OF JOB Wednesday, July 15-Friday, July 17, 2020
The Book of Job is about struggle- the struggle of a good and pious man trying to make sense of the world and of his life in which bad things happen, in which evil is experienced. It asks the big question of why do these things happen if God is just and good. Its even greater significance is in the kind of stance Job is led to take in his challenge to God, his demand for an answer. In this workshop we will look at the dilemmas proposed in this important book of Wisdom literature, and how Job comes to terms with his world, his God and himself.
Fr. Aelred Niespolo has been a monk of Valymero since 2001 and was ordained to the priesthood in 2005. Having completed the Master of Theology program at Oxford University, he teaches at St. John's Seminary in Camarillo. He is editor of the Valyermo Chronicle and has served as Director of Oblates.
