As a student of NLP since 1980, and as a coach, psychotherapist and NLP trainer, Steven Leeds has learned and utilized many techniques for transforming behaviors, thought patterns, unpleasant emotions and other unwanted habits and stuck states. He recognizes that while techniques provide us with powerful strategies for change, we can easily get stuck when they do not work the way we expect them to work. This can result in frustration and/or disappointment and send us into our own “negative” frames of mind. This can result in frustration and/or disappointment and send us into our own “negative” frames of mind. To truly exist in the place where there is “no such thing as failure, only feedback,” we need to learn ways to maintain ongoing curiosity, presence and flow.

In NLP we have learned many ways of getting to the “final” destination (Outcome). Yet what’s often overlooked and most important is the journey itself (e.g., How we live our life.)

Starting in September and every Wednesday from 12 noon to 2pm, Steven Leeds will be demonstrating how he works with clients, helping them identify exactly how and where they are stuck and creating a more meaningful and satisfying way of being in the world.  He will be working one-on-one with someone in the group and/or with the entire group. Participants will also have time for Q and A, to discuss what he does and how he is doing it. Although, we will not be building in time for participants to work in pairs as we do in our NLP training, we do encourage participants who want to practice to arrange to meet on their own.

Steven Leeds began studying psychology and spirituality in the 1970’s receiving an MA in Humanistic and Counseling Psychology and became a certified Master Practitioner and Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming in 1986. He has studied with John Grinder, Richard Bandler, Robert Dilts, Leslie Cameron Bandler, Jack Canfield, Virginia Satir and Stephen Gilligan. He founded The NLP Center of New York with his partner Rachel Hott in 1986. From that time to the present, he has been offering NLP certification training in New York City.  He conducted one of the first Swiss NLP Certification Training in Zurich, Switzerland.  And more recently in 2019, he offered the NLP Coach Practitioner Training in Guangzhou, China.

Steven along with Rachel Hott wrote, “NLP: A Changing Perspective.”

While this series is open to anyone interested in learning how Steven incorporates NLP, Ericksonian Hypnosis and Self Relations in a client session, it will be especially valuable for experienced coaches and therapists who seek to deepen and expand their understanding.

“For me there is only the traveling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart, and the only worthwhile challenge is to traverse its full length–and there I travel looking, looking breathlessly.”
