MMA will once again be hosting the BEST class

BEST is a 2 day certification course that gives out-of-hospital birth providers enhanced skill proficiency and greater confidence in managing obstetrical emergencies. A variety of teaching methods are used including case studies, videos, discussion, and hands-on skill stations. You will learn a systematic approach to recognizing high risk pregnancies, complications during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, neonatal emergencies, multiples, breech birth, and maternal trauma.
BEST has been approved for 14 contact hours of continuing education. It also meets the criteria for category 1 of the midwifery bridge certificate through NARM. For information on the instructor and to purchase the book, visit http://birthemergency.com/

Fee: $425.00 for MMA members/$450 non-members. In event of a birth, all funds minus $15.00 will be returned.
To assure attendance at the class, sign up early. Last time we offered BEST it sold out. This event will be full when we reach 20 attendees.
Meals: potluck lunch on Saturday, order in on Sunday, light breakfast provided both days.
Accommodations: overnight accommodations are available at Kate Mazarra's house. Kate can sleep 13 comfortably in beds, sofas, and air mattresses. Kate’s address: 1020 South Hills Dr.
