Join a selection of the world’s most renowned berry researchers as we gather in Tampa, Florida, USA to hear them present the latest research that attracts media and consumer attention to berries as a superfruit. Behind news releases on how berries improve heart health, memory and skin health is the work of these research scientists.
The Berry Health Benefits Symposium or BHBS is an international conference dedicated to showcasing the latest scientific research into berries and health.
The symposium, which has been held biennially since 2005, features cutting edge findings in many areas including cognition, berry phytochemicals and metabolites on cardiovascular function & cardio-metabolic health, gut health & gut microflora, berries and the skin and berry special topics.
Put on under the auspices of the National Berry Crops Initiative, the Berry Health Benefit Symposium offers 2 and a 1/2 days of dynamic research presentations and seminar sessions and a 1/2 day chartered bus tour to discover Florida berry farms, the University of Florida Gulf Coast Research and Education Center Balm Campus and finishes with a Cowboy BBQ at the Southern Grace Ranch.
COVID-19 Protocols:
The health and safety of our attendees, speakers, guests and staff is of the utmost priority for the 2022 Berry Health Benefits Symposium. We have implemented the following protocols which exceed local health and safety guidelines:
- All BHBS attendees and Hotel Alba staff will be required to wear face masks indoors.
- BHBS will offer all meals and breaks outside, weather permitting.
- Generous spacing will be provided between attendees throughout the meeting space.
- Hotel Alba will provide air purification units in the meeting spaces.
- Hand sanitizing stations will be made available, and hotel staff will sanitize high-touch surfaces regularly.
- Attendees will be required to sign a waiver of liability.
In the event that local and/or federal health regulations change, we will update our protocols to reflect those changes. We will work with local health officials and hotel staff to ensure that we are creating and promoting a safe environment where you feel comfortable and can focus on maximizing your experience at the 2022 Berry Health Benefits Symposium.
