Love and Logic training provides practical skills and strategies that help teachers maintain control of their classrooms and establish a healthy learning community built on positive communications and mutual respect. During this session the presenter will introduce the “C.O.O.L. Formula”: Strategies to support teachers in managing the behaviors that students throw our way!! Skill building activities are based on the curriculum: 9 Essential Skills for the Love and Logic Classroom. If you have participated in a Love and Logic Educator’s workshop before, bring your Love and Logic workbook and be ready to reinforce your prior learning. If you are new to Love and Logic, a workbook will be provided. This is an all-day interactive workshop with morning coffee and lunch provided.

Lisa Coates has worked with families and children in the field of education since 2001. Lisa has a background in early childhood education, and is a registered facilitator for Parent and Teacher Education through the Love and Logic Institute in Golden Colorado. Lisa is also the Director of Human Resources for the California Montessori Project K-8 Charter School Network and a Trainer for the Sacramento County Office of Education: School of Education, Teacher Induction unit (BTSA) where she provides in-service teacher training in many areas, to include positive behavior management and communications skills building. Some of Lisa’s current and previous clients include: Twin Rivers Unified School District, Natomas Unified School District, Dry Creek Joint Elementary District, Montessori Training Center of Shingle Springs, Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, Savvy Health Solutions, and SASD Employee Lunch and Learn Series. Lisa has also been a favored workshop presenter for various conferences at both the local and state level. Besides raising two children of their own, Lisa & her husband have devoted countless hours over the years to coaching and encouraging youth through community sports programs and school volunteerism. In working with parents and teachers, Lisa engages participants in fun ways and provides an easy to understand overview of Love & Logic philosophies, with tools for participants to experiment with right away.
