DISCIPLINE AT WORK: A guide For Managers, Supervisors, Department Heads, Office Managers, Executives, and Owners

Enjoy lunch with BBB and learn when to use discipline in the workplace, how to use it and implement it legally. The session will be facilitated by SCORE SA Volunteer Larry Hobbs, SPHR, SCP. Mr. Hobbs has more than 30 years of Human Resource experience. His extensive background includes positions as a Personnel Management Specialist with the Federal government and a Human Resources Manager for the General Dynamics Corporation.

Review the various definitions, approaches, and purposes including:

  • Preventive, Punitive or Positive
  • Progressive Discipline
  • The Hot Stove Rule
  • Qualities Employers Like & Dislike in Applicants/Employees
  • The Disciplinary Interview
  • The Supervisor’s Vocabulary
  • The Manager’s Termination Checklist
  • Time Theft - How employees can steal from you
  • Wrongful Termination Lawsuits

Please note: Due to limited availability we ask that you please limit your registration to 1 attendee per business. However, additional attendees will be able to pay a $20 entry fee on the day of the event to participate. This entry fee will help us to cover additional costs.

Doors will open at 11:30am to allow for networking before the session begins.
