On Saturday 1st October, FLS Fitness (Simonstone, Burnley) will open its doors for an incredible team fitness and strength battle organised by the Lift for Cancer team.

The day will see teams of three people take on seven different battles to decide who will be the first Battle Cancer; Battle of the Pennines victors.  'Battle Cancer' is a series of challenges that test every aspect of fitness, strength & endurance. Each of the seven battles will be inspired by a different lifting or fitness event but the true extent of the challenges will only be revealed on the day.

With teams consisting of Crossfit athletes, Powerlifters, Strong men/women and general gym goers, participants have to tactically decide who will be best placed to win each battle and become the Battle Cancer; Battle of the Pennines champions.

Entry to the event gives you access to the seven battles and a ticket to the post event celebration BBQ. With prizes for the top three teams and for the teams who battle the most courageously across the day this is not an event to be missed.

Lift For Cancer is a not-for-profit charity foundation which organises & facilitates unique strength & fitness events. The ultimate aim for the foundation is to raise awareness and funds for UK based Cancer Charities. The Lift for Cancer team is driven by raising as much money for UK Cancer Charities as possible. So far this year a staggering £17,000 has been raised for a variety of UK Cancer Charities but Battle Cancer; Battle of the Pennines will have a very local focus. This event will be raising funds for Pendleside Hospice, which requires £3.8 million every year to offer care to people suffering from cancer. As only 28% of this is provided by the local health trust, the hospice relies on donations to keep its doors open.
