Explore identity, leverage key components of SEL, and deepen mindfulness routines to model self-awareness

The focus on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) direct instruction, assessment, and integration is expanding. But we adults also have to develop these skills since research makes it clear that when we develop our own SEL skills- we better create an environment and model the skills necessary for students to develop their SEL skills.

In this session we focus on: adult SEL skills, specifically self-awareness, since that is the foundation of many other SEL skills. We will develop self-awareness by exploring our identities, engaging with related standards and assessment (yes- you will take and get results to reflect upon your self-awareness), and deepening mindfulness routines.

This session is in service of self-care, personal development, and ultimately being better able to vulnerably model self-awareness for our students. They deserve the best version of you. And so do you.
