Title: Finding Your Way Out Of the FOG (Fear, Obligation, Guilt) and Stop Procrastinating

Abstract:

You will be introduced to FOG – fear, obligation, and guilt and how these emotions keep you powerless and unable to grow as you wish. So frequently when in a FOG, you think you should be able to change it or get it done by will or grit alone leading you to procrastinate. When procrastinating, you may have thoughts such as “If I was strong enough,” “If I was smart enough”, “If I was good enough, I would be able to…”. You may feel powerless or unmotivated to act. You may notice tight shoulder, upset stomach, or a headache and not realize that these are ways your brain uses to keep you safe.

In this interactive workshop, you will have an opportunity to envision a situation where you feel as if you are in a light FOG. While surrounded by this FOG, you will become aware of your thoughts, your emotions, and your body sensations. From this place of awareness, you will have the opportunity to practice different ways to counter the FOG so you can anticipate each moment.

To get the most out of this workshop, have a little space to move around as you listen.

Speaker Bio:

Sandra Menzies is an experienced mindfulness coach, yoga instructor, and leader who helps people and organizations transform. Driven by compassion and self-awareness, she takes pride in providing activities and exercises that allow deep learning that is honest and brave resulting in lasting change. She has been a member of PMI since 2015 and a senior member of American Society for Quality (ASQ) since 2001.

With over 35 years of experience, Sandy offers coaching to leaders and individuals going through transition. She specializes in helping high achieving women prepare for and transition into retirement.

Sandy has also helped develop quality system and held positions in project management and process improvement in the pharmaceutical industry and at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
