“Fan Application Recommendations to Prevent Performance Issues ”

 

When applying fans, it is important the fans are specified using proper system design. Incorrectly applying fans will cause various performance issues. Some of these issues include low airflow, high or annoying airflow noise, and low bearing life.

This presentation will cover proper fan system design recommendations. Also covered will be how fan performance issues can be prevented by applying fan laws. Finally, fan airflow noise issues will be covered, including recommended fan noise levels.

 Speaker Bio: 

Jim Toda is President and Sales Engineer for Custom Cooling Company, which is a manufacturers sales representative organization.  He has 34 years experience in the HVAC industry, representing and selling commercial equipment such as air handlers, coils, fans, and water source heat pumps.

Jim holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from California Polytechnic University at Pomona and is a full member of ASHRAE.

Jim has served the Tri County chapter of ASHRAE for the last 25 years. He was the Tri County chapter President during the 1998-1999 year. Jim currently serves the chapter as Historian and Student Activities Chair.
